The Kornmesserhaus with its magnificent facade is one of the most beautiful late Gothic secular buildings in Austria. The facade was designed in accordance with the Venetian models of the time, which is unmistakably recognisable in the richly decorated and open arcades.
The architectural showpiece was built between 1499 and 1505 for the Hammerherr Pankraz Kornmess, whose family had shaped the city of Bruck an der Mur as builders and patrons since the 14th century.
In 2019, a comprehensive restoration of the facade and the common areas took place.
